Oct. 13 marked Taylor Swift’s Era Tour Movie debut. The film was a bejeweled 2 hours and 49 minutes long, featuring her shows in Los Angeles. Unlike the concerts, it was not difficult to purchase tickets. The movie allowed fans to see the concert who were unable to buy tickets. Swift brought the Eras Tour to a wider audience and granted all Swifties to experience the concert. During the opening week of the film, it brought in 123.5 million dollars globally.
Swift produced 6 different films, meaning there were a variety of enchanting surprise songs for the audience. Before attending the movie, Swifties were given the opportunity to purchase souvenir popcorn buckets and cups. They were also given posters upon their arrival. Instead of wearing gorgeous eras outfits like the concert, swifties opted for a more comfortable look, wearing Taylor Swift merchandise. Like the concerts, friendship bracelets were made and traded throughout the movie.
This film was like no other, and the Swifties were definitely ready for it. There was no sitting during the movie. Swifties were up singing, jumping, dancing, and crying in the theater aisles.
“Seeing the Eras Tour movie was one of the best experiences of my life,” Sophomore Swiftie Grace Carey said. “I made so many new friends and had the time of my life. I loved every moment of it.”
The movie was a different experience compared to the concert. There were no light up bracelets and some of the songs were cut. However, it was just as intimate and definitely had an electric touch.
“The movie was different from the concert but just as enjoyable,” Carey said. “I would go see the movie every day if I could.”
