Breast Cancer Awareness month is a very important time to signify the seriousness of Breast Cancer. October in Humble ISD is a time used to pink out everything. The district prides on recognizing and acknowledging the survivors and the people that we have lost.
Nov. 3 Summer Creek held a Pink Out Pep Rally and Football game against AHS, to honor all of the men and women that have struggled with this fight. In order to attend students and staff had to have on pink. It was vastly encouraged to wear Pink Out shirts at the game.
“Pink Out pep rally is everyone dressed in pink such as all of the audience, the entire participants,” Pep Rally Sponsor, Teresa Aranda, said. “So I think that just draws awareness to breast cancer”,
This pep rally is a unifying moment of all 4 grade levels. It is incredibly special to see SCHS represent this cause and show their support for the movement. During the week of the pep rally, HOSA sold pink shirts for 10 dollars. All of the proceeds went to fighting against Breast Cancer.
‘We’re trying to increase student involvement in activities while raising money for breast cancer,” Class of 2026 President Kylie Currie said. “So we sold tons of pink out accessories for the pep rally.”
