The Summer Creek Bulldogs basketball team led by senior Cameron Patterson took on district rivalry Ce King Jan 9. The intense rivalry match was played on CE Kings home floor, leaving Summer Creek at a disadvantage. With star guard Bryson Wheat out for the season with injuries, many people thought this game would be a blow out. However, it was far from that.
Throughout the week leading up to the game, it was the talk of the Bulldogs hallway.
On CE Kings starting 5, they have star players such as the 6 foot 9 forward Logan Alexander. The giant holds offers from Lamar, PVAM and La Tech. The guard Jmar Franklin also led the Panthers. The Bulldogs came into the game with extreme intensity. Star Bulldogs included up and growing sophomore Reggie Rideau, senior Cameron Patterson who is committed to San Jose State, and Jordan Brown. With two stacked rosters going at each other this game was close.
At the end the Bulldogs took the big win 81-67, shocking the media. Cameron Patterson led the pack with 22 points scored. Many fans trolled the Panthers for trailing by that much. Point Guard Reggie Rideau took it to twitter and said “Coach Croy will have us ready for the 2nd half of district”. The Bulldogs will face the Panthers again February 3rd and are looking forward to winning again. Will the Bulldogs complete the job again or fall short to the revenge seeking Panthers?
