After closing out on their regular season, the girl’s and boy’s soccer teams advance to the first round of playoffs. After their last district game on Friday, March 8, they both earned spots to compete in the first round of playoffs. They both played on Tuesday, March 26 at Turner Stadium against Dobie. The girls won 4-0 and advanced to the second round of playoffs, while the boys team lost 0-3 cutting them out of the playoffs.
”We communicate well together,” said sophomore Natalia Komatinsky when asked what factors about her team led them to be in the playoffs. “And I think that we just all are best friends because we hang out so much.” This shows how within a team the need for communication is larger, and it can lead a team to victory in ways that just being skilled can’t.
“Our determination and our loyalty to each other,” senior Cole Patton said. “Our season didn’t go the way we planned too or the way it was supposed to happen according to our lineup and team, but without the really rough start we were still able to pull it together and make it to the playoffs from a really difficult situation.”
It took the boys soccer team a lot of dedication and loyalty to each other and their team to be able to get to the playoffs, but without their dedication and loyalty to the team, they would have failed at their goal of making it to the playoffs.
