Seniors are excited to participate in the classic senior traditions they have been waiting for the past three years of high school. Throughout the year, events will happen to celebrate the seniors and make their last year of high school one to remember.
“Senior traditions are important because they build memories for your last year in high school,” senior Averyale Hunt said. “They remind you that all of those years you’ve spent in school are coming to an end.”
Some popular traditions are Senior Sunrise and Senior Sunset. These events usually are starting and ending celebrations to get the seniors ready for the beginning and the end of their last year of high school.
“My favorite tradition of senior year is Senior Sunrise because it brings all of us seniors together during a year of growing and learning from our past,” Hunt said.
As seniors, traditions bring a new excitement because there are not many traditions within the earlier years of high school.
“Junior year we didn’t really have traditions so it wasn’t as exciting, but this year we get so much more attention and have more to look forward to,” Hunt said. “Junior year was more of me looking forward to being a senior.”
These traditions are great motivators for seniors to continue to come to school and make this year their best before they leave high school.
“Senior traditions keep me pushing forward, since it is my last year I just want to get it over with,” senior Allison Singh said. “But then I remember that I have all of these traditions that help me create the last memories with my friends.”
