Rising stars, the Allison twins lead the Summer Creek Cross Country team into the new year. Juniors Da’Juan Allison and Ja’Juan Allison have already made a name for themselves in the sport.
For Da’Juan, it all started back in seventh grade.
“I was running in P.E., and the coach asked if I was interested. I said, ‘yeah'” Da’Juan said.
With times under 15 minutes in the 5k and interest from Division 1 scouts, the expectations are sky high.
“A lot of underclassmen are looking up to me,” Da’Juan said.
His brother, Ja’Juan found his path to the sport in a similar approach.
“Cross Country chose me. Coach saw me, and the rest is history,” Ja’Juan said.
With state competitions on rise, Ja’Juan knows that the journey ahead won’t be easy.
“The competition is tough, but I want to make it back to state,” he said.
What makes this duo stand out is not just the level of their speed, but the way that they push each other.
“It’s cool because we have similar skills. It’s like me versus him every time,” Ja’Juan said.
With their dedication, hard work, talent and sibling rivalry, the Allison twins are not just running races, they’re running towards a bright future for Summer Creek Cross Country.
