Under the bright lights of Turner Stadium, senior captain Amontre Harris takes the field for one last regular season home game – a moment years in the making.
A three-year varsity defensive end for the Bulldogs, Amontre has become a cornerstone of the team’s success and spirit.
When asked what he’s most looking forward to, he doesn’t hesitate.
“Leaving there with a W,” he said.
It’s that focused, no-nonsense mindset that’s driven him since day one.
As captain, balancing football and school isn’t easy, but Amontre shrugs it off.
“The work is hard, but the payout is good,” he said.
Heading into playoffs, his confidence radiates.
“I feel great, confident in my team, and I feel we can go far,” he said, certain the Bulldogs have what it takes to reach State. “The state game isn’t going to be close. We’ve worked really hard to get to where we are right now.”
Reflecting on his journey, Amontre smiles.
”It’s been amazing. All the hard work was worth it. I’ve made a lot of brothers through this experience, and I’m grateful for it.”
For Amontre Harris, senior night isn’t just about celebrating the end; it’s about honoring the grind, the brotherhood, and the belief that the best is yet to come for himself and the Bulldogs.
