When Raheem first joined the cheer team, he didn’t just bring strength and school spirit, he made history. As the first male cheerleader at Summer Creek High School, he quickly became an essential part of the team.
For Raheem, the cheer team wasn’t just a group of athletes; it was family.
“I’ll miss the friendships, the inside jokes, and all the energy we bring to games and competitions. The team was definitely a second home to me,” he said.
Reflecting on his time as a senior cheerleader, one memory stands out above all.
“Going to Disney World and competing,” he said. “It was such a fun experience and one I’ll never forget.”
That trip represented more than just competition. It’s where he was able to grow as a cheerleader and also build a bond with his teammates.
As he prepares to leave behind his pom-poms and wrap up his cheer career, Raheem hopes to inspire others to follow their dream.
His advice to future cheerleaders?
“Never give up, stay consistent, and always keep a positive attitude,” he said. “Hard work and dedication will take you far, and don’t forget to have fun along the way.”
