Friday, April 21, marked Taylor Swift’s opening night of her bejeweled “Eras Tour” in Houston, Texas. This was the first of three record-setting sold-out shows at NRG Stadium, officially dubbed NRG Stadium – Taylor’s Version for the weekend. Thousands of Swifties lined up hours early before the doors opened at NRG Park, trading friendship bracelets in their gorgeous outfits from different eras. This concert was enchanting.

When Swift performs, she performs fearlessly. Each part of the concert was delicately thought out. The transitions between each era kept the audience on their toes for what was to come. The arguably most anticipated part of the evening was what surprise songs Swift would sing. This particular evening, Swift sang You’re Not Sorry from her Fearless album and Wonderland from her 1989 album. Swift’s addition of light-up bracelets for each member of the audience made the entire arena look like a mirrorball.

“Each of you has a bracelet not only so this place looks like a galaxy, but also so I can see each and every one of you, no matter where you are sitting,” Swift said.

Swift performed a whopping 48 songs in approximately three hours. During Swift’s performance of Bad Blood from her 1989 album, fireworks were let off to make it seem like sparks were flying. Swift performed in a way that made the audience feel like there was an invisible string attached. This concert was a once in a lifetime experience and made all Swifties feel like they would never grow up.
