After months of practicing, 70 choir students built up the courage to compete in the TMEA All-State process, and out of those 70 very talented students, 58 were able to make it past the first round.
The All-State process is over a span of four rounds with each round getting more and more competitive, students who continue to progress have just about a month to prepare for the following round.
“When I walked out of the room I was nervous because I didn’t know where I was gonna place compared to the older kids but it was all worth it,” freshman Emily VanNostrand said.
When students think the auditions couldn’t be scary enough, the anticipation they feel standing in the hallway waiting for their turn takes the cake.
“I felt very nervous, but as soon as I started singing the fear went away because I was very well prepared,” senior Jade Gomez said.
Best of luck to our 58 students. Do your best in the next round!
