What makes a regular Saturday morning even more magical? It’s the Boo at the Barn FFA event! This gathering, organized by the Future Farmers of America (FFA), is all about fun activities, farm animals, and community togetherness.
The Boo Barn is the proud presentation of FFA students, walking their well-cared-for animals. These students have invested countless hours into raising and nurturing these animals, and their dedication shines as they showcase their hard work to the public.
“My favorite thing was being with my friends and showing my pig to the people who don’t normally see it, like my family,” junior Alaina Guillory said.
The event had an array of activities to enjoy. Children and families explored not only the adorable animals but also partake in various games, jump around in bouncy houses, and browse the offerings from local vendors. It was a fantastic way to engage the community and have a great Saturday out.
“Bringing the community together and exposing more kids to the livestock society was really important to me,” senior Karen Garcia said.
One of the event’s most endearing aspects is the unique admission fee – canned foods, which are later donated to the Houston Area Assistance Ministries (HAAM). The Boo Barn FFA is more than a Halloween event; it’s a gathering that showcases the best of Summercreek’s community and gives a chance to come together in the spirit of fun and charity.
