During the school week of April 15-19 students campaigned for the honor to be elected as a class or student body officer. Wednesday during lunch, students voted for the representatives they wished to see as their student leaders. Voting closed on Friday, April 19, and the results were posted to instagram on Tuesday, April 23.
“I think it’s important because these officers are going to have a say in what your next year looks like and the different activities and things around the school,” Sophomore Audrey Brown said. “So choosing people who are going to uplift our school and make it better in the year to come is very important.”
Brown was the class of 2026 secretary for the past two years, and decided to run for student body secretary for her upcoming Junior year.
“I loved being a class secretary for the past two years, so I decided to try to make a bigger difference by being secretary for our school,” Brown said. “And to help get other people involved with student council.”
Brown stated reasons why being a part of the student body officers can help the school. There are also benefits for the people a part of these officer groups like learning how to lead and gaining leadership opportunities.
“I decided to run for PR Manager because I think it would be a good leadership opportunity for me to be able to learn,” Sophomore Izzy Csombok said . “And to show off our school and just show how great it really is.”
