Animation Club meets on Tuesdays

In this world we all do some kind of animations like moving or talking, but they’re never really drawn out. That’s where the animators come along giving a simple drawing life.

For students who want to create cartoons, anime and games, Summer Creek High School has an Animation Club on Tuesdays in room 2628. Club members learn about cell (celluloid) animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, motion graphics and stop motion.

“I like more cartoonish styles where it’s simple like the Adventure Time theme and Loud House. They have good art styles,” said sophomore Jasmine Vu.

For some members, animation is a hobby, but others hope to pursue it as a career like Vu.

“I always really liked drawing,” she said. “I just really want to do a fun job.”

For outsiders it may seem easy since they are only seeing the final product and not the step by step process. But, members agree animation takes a lot of effort especially having to make someone’s movement exactly as it is in real life.

“It’s pretty difficult only because it’s a long process,” sophomore Joselyn Reyna said.

For more information about joining the club, be sure to attend their next meeting.
