What’s up guys? My name is Maci and I’m going to be getting into the movie reviews but unlike my good friend Cayden Affleck, I will be doing thriller movies. I will be giving insight into my opinions on some of the classic and recent thrillers as we roll into Halloween. 

 In 1993 a movie that is now known as a classic came out and that movie is Hocus Pocus. That’s not the only good news though. Recently, a second one was released. Hocus Pocus 2 had a lot of differences and similarities that stuck out from the first one. The movie similarly to the first one portrayed the Sanderson sisters and although the actors were a little older they still had their wicked ways. We learned about the Sanderson sisters’ childhood and their past as they grew up. There was even talk of Winnie’s first kiss with Billie and the real history between them. As the sisters were brought into the 21st century, they learned to deal with the many changes that occurred over the years, such as the technology, the convenient stores and even their former home.

 As I watched the movie I started to notice how the sisters had lost some of their touch as they were portrayed as less villainous. It was almost like Disney was trying to play it safe with this one. As new characters were introduced you learned more about the Sandersons and why they went into their coven together. The movie displayed three new characters which later toward the end played a big part. As Becca had her shining role as an upcoming witch with her two best friends, she was able to teach Winnifred a lesson as she went against Mr. Book’s wishes.  This movie similar to the first had a lot of comedy and some songs to sing along with because what are the Sanderson sisters without a good performance? However, this movie was definitely a good one and one that I would recommend if you are totally into Hocus Pocus.

Overall, I would recommend this movie and I would rate it a 8/10 only because there wasn’t much of the villainous touch that I was looking for. This movie had comedy seeing as I was able to give a couple laughs throughout the movie. That’s all for this week, get ready for next week as we get into more halloween movies.
