On Nov. 5, the Houston Astros clinched the World Series for the second time in franchise history. Just 24 hours later, a parade celebration was held in honor of the Astros winning. The parade consisted of floats, bands, dancers, the players and the World Series trophy.

Almost two million people went to the parade to celebrate their home team, including a few Summer Creek Bulldogs.

“While I’m really glad I got to go and experience it, I felt very claustrophobic,” said senior Kelley Lundquist. “We got there several hours before the parade, but didn’t think to bring chairs, so we were on our feet all day. I was so exhausted by the end that I fell asleep in the car ride home, but I think it will be one of those memories with my dad and brothers that I will never forget.”

All of the star players were on display with their families and friends.

“It was so cool being so close to the players. I have never experienced something like that before,” said junior Brayden Meshell. “I was most excited to see Justin Verlander and Yordan Alvarez.”

The parade brought the whole city of Houston together and allowed everyone to celebrate the Astros.
