On Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. the 11-0 Shadow Creek Sharks will play the up-and-rising 7-4 Summer Creek Bulldogs at the University of Houston football field. This game is not only going to be a cold and maybe even slippery game, but this is a WIN OR GO HOME situation. The Sharks will be coming all the way from Pearland to meet the fellow Bulldogs. Looking at the stats and rosters, coaching skills, and more, this will be a good game – or as the Summer Creek Bulldogs say, a “dog fight.” The question is, will you be there to watch the Battle of the Creeks or do you want to be surprised when the score comes out post-game?

The 11-0 Sharks BREEZED by their opponents each game with a ratio of how many scored points combined to how many points have been scored on them being 411-110. That is an INSANE ratio. Their team is led by senior quarterback Duke Butler who previously was injured but made a return during the season. Butler’s stats currently sit at 973 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, with only one interception. They also have a 4-star receiver Jacorey Watson who went from wide receiver to quarterback to fill in for injured Duke Butler. Summer Creek’s Darein Hargrove will have his work cut out for him guarding the 4-star MACHINE who currently holds offers from Texas, Ole Miss, LSU and much more.

Unlike the Sharks, the Summer Creek Bulldogs are not to be defined by their record. The Bulldogs regular season record sat at 7-4 heading into the first round. They ended up DEMOLISHING South Houston High School 72-7. Their offense is led by underrated quarterback Jahrik “JJ” Jones and his two spotlight receivers Roriyon “Ro” Richardson and Melvin “Cory” Nichols. The star receiver “Ro” has D1 offers from TSU and Grambling. “Cory” Nichols holds D1 offers from Grambling, New Mexico State and Army West Point. Their defense is a walking POWERHOUSE led by senior Matai Thomas, senior Paul Singleton, sophomore Brandon Jones, speedy senior corner back Darein “DJ” Hargrove and 6’4 senior Darien Riley.

SCHS seems to circle their offense around the great 3-star junior running back Lloyd Avant. The running back currently sits at over 200+ carries for 25+ touchdowns. The “Baby Face” junior also has 1000+ rushing yards. It would be no surprise if the Sharks spotlighted their defense around him. The question is, would that stop the Bulldogs’ offense or will it not affect a thing?

Both of the Creeks’ students that attend the school will play a MAJOR part in this ball game. You can see on social media that both schools have made posters about the big game, basically boosting up the energy in each school. This will be one of the most important games for both teams this season so if anything, they need everything they can get from their fans and supporters.
