Mr. Brent McDonald was named Humble ISD Secondary Principal of the Year. The news was announced during the monthly horizontal meeting with all of the elementary, middle and high school principals present.

In a very weird way I got very emotional because I knew it was a team award for all of the hard work at Summer Creek by our staff and students and certainly was not for myself,” McDonald said. “I am so proud of Summer Creek and to represent such a great school.”

The assistant superintendents were in charge of the award process as well as the recognition. The other principals and superintendents voted for the award. Mr. McDonald has been the principal of Summer Creek for six years. During that time, he has drastically changed the reputation and outlook of Summer Creek.

“Summer Creek is now known for our superior academics, athletics, art and our CTE program, including our Tiny Home project,” he said. “I am proud to have been able to assist in changing the course of Summer Creek and helping the community have so much pride in our accomplishments at Summer Creek.”

The students, teachers and administration are incredibly proud of Mr. McDonald for all that he has accomplished.
