Swiftie staffer shares ‘Eras Tour’ tips

Kelley Lundquist, Reporter

Summer Creek Swifties, the week we’ve all been waiting for is finally here… Ready for it?

If you’re headed to one of the shows this weekend, take note of these tips – from a Swiftie who went to an earlier show in Arlington – to ensure a night that exceeds your wildest dreams.

Make the friendship bracelets…

From one Swiftie to another, I’m urging you to make the friendship bracelets, and to get started doing so now. You can make them out of beads, string knots, with song lyrics, album colors, or however you want. Then, bring them to the show to trade with other Swifties – it is so much fun! Trust me on this one, and make at least 10 to trade.

What to do if you want merchandise

If you want no part of scrambling for merch on show day, the merch truck typically opens at 10 a.m. the day before opening night. People at previous shows have begun lining up as early as 2:30 a.m. this day to secure merch from this truck. In our case, this would fall on Thursday.

I’m definitely not condoning missing school for merch though, so watch the weather if you are trying to snag some on show day. Depending on rain, the doors could open earlier than the scheduled 4:30 p.m. time. And there will be a mad dash for the merchandise stands inside of the stadium as soon as they do. I would recommend getting there by at least 3:30 p.m. if you want to be a part of that mad dash.

Take care of your feet

Wear comfortable shoes.

Or, if you insist on wearing sparkly boots for the perfect instagram picture, wear thick, fuzzy socks with them. Then, when the concert starts, slip those boots off and enjoy minimal foot pain in the days following the concert.

Hydrate

The second you enter the stadium, buy a bottled water or two so that you have it during the show. All of that singing and dancing will require maximum hydration.

Check NRG’s bag policy before you head to the stadium.

Your safest bet is to avoid bringing a bag if you can. But if you must, make sure it is clear, unless it fits the measurements outlined in the bag policy linked above.

… Take the moment and taste it!

It’s not every day that you get to go to a 44-song, 3-hour concert, much less breathe the same air as THE Taylor Alison Swift. So soak up every second, and then tell us about your experience here for a chance to be featured in a future article.
