Senior Sunrise is the first of many senior events for the graduating class of 2024. As senior’s watch the sun rise over the buildings across from the school, they also watch as their last year before adulthood begins.
“I see this milestone as go big or going home. I wanted to stand out by wearing a grass skirt and bikini top to go with the Hawaiian theme,” senior Bowman Autry said.
Senior Sunrise is a memory that seniors will remember for the rest of their lives. The fun backgrounds for pictures, an assortment of breakfast food for the students to snack on, and an aesthetic sunrise view made it worth getting up early. The Hawaiian theme makes it seem just so relaxing and lets the seniors unwind before their final stretch in their education.
“We stick to the Hawaiian theme because it signifies the beginning of the year and at the end of the year at senior sunset we bring back the Hawaiian theme,” STUCO sponsor Stephanie Lopez said about the theme and what is planned for Senior Sunset, the counterpart of Senior Sunrise.
STUCO was the organization that put this event together.
“It was really hard to sit back and relax once everything was done, but everything was great and I was able to have a great time with my friends,” senior class president Payton Carey said.
Senior year is definitely a new experience with all the events and school while trying to figure out their future. Senior Sunrise lets them start off the school year and helps bring their education to a full circle at the end of the year.
