The Bulldogs kicked off the academic school year and celebration of the first football game with confetti, streamers and school spirit. Each class was determined to be the loudest to win the hard sought after spirit stick. The freshman experienced the tradition for the first time.
Each class had their own theme for the pep rally. The sophomores threw shade by wearing sunglasses, the juniors built up spirit by wearing hard hats and construction vests and the seniors dressed in western attire to celebrate their last rodeo.
“Saj Gunner originally came up with the country idea,” senior class president Payton Carey explained. “I came up with the idea of the last rodeo. I am currently in my cowgirl era so I loved the idea.”
The cheerleaders, Starlettes and band all made appearances and performed at the pep rally. The students went wild as the cheerleaders tumbled across the gym floor and performed stunts.
“It’s crazy to think about how I only have a few more pep rallies with my team,” senior varsity captain Rheagan Schneider said. “Our school makes game day pep rallies so much fun. I’m going to enjoy every one until I graduate.”
Arguably the most anticipated tradition of the pep rally is each class chanting their battle cry in hopes to win the spirit stick. The seniors won the stick, something that has never happened in their four years.
“I was incredibly hyped when it was the seniors’ turn to chant the battle cry,” senior Brayden Meshell said. “We popped confetti poppers and screamed as loud as we could. It was a really cool experience.”
The pep rally demonstrated unity in school spirit and showed that great things are in store this year.
