On the block day morning of Sept. 14, the Summer Creek staff honored six fantastic teachers who had turned learning into a joyful experience.
Principal Dr. Matthew Mahony set the tone for the event with a spirited welcome as he awarded some incredible staff members that morning.
Being recognized as a good staff member meant the world to Mr. Camron Bradford.
“It means that I am helping the culture of our campus and also means I am leaving a positive impact on young minds and fostering their creativity,” he explained. “For me, teaching is always about the kids and not just the craft; supporting my students at basketball games and football games, just showing up for my kids.”
Bradford’s positivity radiated as he shared examples of his contributions to the school.
“I’ve transformed my room into a safe place for my students,” he said happily. “From our fun projects to our boundless energy, we’ve made learning a joyful adventure.”
When asked about his secret sauce, Mr. Bradford emphasized his strong relationships with colleagues and students.
“Building those connections is key,” he revealed. “It creates a supportive, collaborative environment where everyone thrives.”
Mrs. Wrendy Oseguera, also shares her own insight.
For her, the recognition as a good staff member was about turning math into a rollercoaster of fun. “Math isn’t just about numbers; it’s about the way we have fun with them,” she said.
She then dove into the specifics, explaining, “With my students, I meet them where they are and allow them the space to have an opinion”
Both teachers stressed the importance of key qualities in a good staff member.
“Passion, dedication, and a genuine love for teaching,” Oseguera stressed. “And don’t forget to make sure both sides are having fun as well.”
At the end of the day, it was clear that these people are not just exceptional educators; they are also experts in spreading joy and enthusiasm for learning. Their recognition was well-deserved, and their wisdom served as an inspiration to all.
Every day, these educators make a world of difference, one brushstroke, one math puzzle, and one joyful moment at a time. And their stories and advice will continue to inspire staff members and students alike for years to come.
