This Friday, senior Starlette Jayden Sherrard takes the field for her final Senior Night, but this time it’s hers.
Jayden has been part of the drill team for all four years of high school, dreaming of the day it would finally be her turn to walk for senior night. Now that moment is finally here.
“I feel really excited that it’s my last year of being at Summer Creek,” Jayden said. “It was a great experience because I’ve always watched and supported the other Starlettes on senior night, and I’m now walking with my parents. When I was little, I loved dancing but stopped and was so grateful to have an opportunity to continue something I loved.”
Jayden looks ahead, proud of how far she’s gotten and ready for what’s next.
“It’s really hard balancing your time and splitting evenly between working, dancing and doing my college applications, but it all ends up being worth it,” Jayden said. “I’m excited to go to college. I’m going to miss dancing. I’m also excited to start a new chapter of my life and have experiences.”
As Jayden’s closes this chapter on the team, her journey is just beginning. She dreams of being an OBGYN and she’s sure Summer Creek has prepared her for this future.
“Summer Creek has taught me discipline and valuable lessons through leadership,” Jayden said. “I’ll miss my close friends and the traditions and the Bulldog spirit of Summer Creek.”
