Summer Creek Cheer has a bombshell entering the field for senior night on Oct. 31 against Kingwood. Kaylee Ataklo is now a senior on the team. Being with Coach Crystal Livingston since freshman year, Kaylee is now one of the leading seniors on the varsity team.
Switching from All Star to school cheer tryouts for Kaylee was different, but her skills still applied.
“Tryouts freshman year were really scary,” Kaylee expressed. “Because I’d never done school cheer before, I was really used to All Star and it was very different.”
Despite the differences, Kaylee persevered through and made the team. Her tumbling was something that couldn’t be beat and made her well known on the cheer floor.
“Stunting, tumbling, I applied all the technique I did from All Star cheer to school cheer,” Kaylee stated.
Senior night is a bittersweet moment for our seniors who are starting a new chapter of their lives and have to find a new groove.
“I’m ready for this new chapter of my life,” Kaylee shared. “I’ve been here for four years, I’m ready for new experiences.”
Wanting to go to either Texas State, LSU or San Diego State, Kaylee is planning to continue cheer even after high school has ended. Her passion for cheer will never fade away.
Kaylee is taking the cheer world by storm and she is ready for all opportunities that come her way.
